THE IVY CHELSEA GARDEN

KINGS ROAD

Expanding from the Covent garden to the Chelsea Garden, The Ivy has opened a new restaurant on Kings Road, which follows in the footsteps of the original in Covent Garden. This is where Henry J. Beans used to be, a favourite hangout for thirsty students, say no more.

Today the interior is unrecognisable. The style is shabby chic, but also elegantly relaxed. When arriving, you are met by a large brassiere style room. Further in, you come to a smaller room with white washed walls and seating around small tables - and naturally lots of green plants. Perfect for Afternoon tea.

But it is the large outdoor backyard which will melt your heart. Surrounded by lovely flowers, small seating areas are scattered about, each one you would love to bring back home to your own garden.

Food is served all day long and late into the night. The breakfast menu has favourites from the typical European breakfast cafés. All the menus of the day follow the season produce, creating a relaxed mix of the British and French brasserie dishes.

The restaurant opened in spring 2015, and has already been compared to the Chiltern Firehouse - so remember to make a reservation!

The Ivy concept may have a reputation for being slightly uptight or snobby, but this cannot be said of The Ivy Chelsea Garden. They gladly fulfilled a request for two soft boiled eggs, that were not anywhere on their menu but on a junior allthegoodies wish list.
