TATE MODERN, LONDON

If you enjoy modern art, the former Bankside Power Station at the South bank is the place to be in London.

A fantastic building with a new Herzog & de Meuron addition - the Switch House. At the top (10th floor) of the new addition, there is a wonderful observation deck with views over London in all directions.

Tate Modern has a collection of international modern art from 1900 to the present day and a lot of exciting exhibitions, both themed and with an artist in focus

The bookstore at the entrance level is one of the best in London in art, design, architecture, movies and fashion. The new one in the terrace (in the Switch House) is also promising.

Tate Modern has two restaurants, a huge cafe and different bars - some for members and some open for all.

The new restaurant in the 9th floor of the Switch House is simply called "The Restaurant at Tate Modern", The Kitchen & Bar is the other restaurant and bar at the 6th floor of the old turbin hall building with amazing views over London and a huge café at the second floor (street level), overlooking the park in front of the River Thames.
