HAKKASAN, MAYFAIR

Don't be frightened of by the large bouncer greeting you at the entrance of the restaurant Hakkasan or by the loud music when descending down to the basement. It is not a night club, but a popular and a great place to eat. The Hakkasan Mayfair opened in 2010 and is the second in the chain of Hakkasan restaurants. It has quickly become popular and is “the place to eat” Chinese gourmet food in London. Chef Tong Chee Hwee creates food that is contemporary Cantonese, but with a modern twist to it. It may be spicy, but both looks and tastes fantastic. The Michelin guide has awarded the restaurant with a star.  The restaurant is set over two floors; a vibrant but relaxed bar located on the ground floor, and a more intimate lower ground floor. The decor is built up around the wooden carved screens, and gives you an exotic Chinese feeling.
