DEAN STREET TOWNHOUSE, SOHO
Located in Dean Street naturally, this beautiful white hotel was created by joining two Georgian town houses, into 39 bedrooms. Inside, the reception area may be small, but further inn there is a small sitting room inspired area with access to the lifts. Many of the design characteristics from London past, have been restored, and brought into our century in a relaxed and elegant fashion. As seen in the decor of the long bar. The rooms are small, with a simple white and soft interior and the large furniture blend in perfectly.
Next door, at the Dean Street Townhouse Restaurant, there is large bar and restaurant which is filled with small tables. As a contrast, the wooden chairs are mixed with red leather sofas. The walls are covered by black and white photos and sketches by upcoming British artists. This makes a down to earth mood. So don´t be afraid of asking for some ketchup, if it's not already on the table.
The restaurant has an all day menu with British classics, and of course their tea includes a delicious selection of scones, sandwiches and cakes. Like most places, remember to book for tea, be it high or low. For breakfast the try the Eggs Benedict which is perfect.
Its hard to imagine that this elegant hotel is in the middle of Soho, considering Soho's sordid past.
