BREAKFAST

 

Why not skip breakfast at your hotel and have it somewhere else. Having breakfast is a new way to discover exciting places in London. Most hotels welcome guest only for breakfast, even if they don't stay at the hote. Many of the new trendy restaurants have added breakfast to their schedule. Normally you don't have to reserve a table, just drop by and ask. You will me amazed with the friendliness from the different staffs. In this section we present some great breakfast tips, enjoy !

SOHO HOTEL

 

Brekfast at Soho Hotel is served in the Refuel Restaurant, a large room located next to the entrance and reception area seperated by the black window frames which are found everywhere in the hotel. Therestaurant is separated from the bar by a glass shelf full of vintage oil cans, model cars and other old and newer stuff.

 

Brakfast from 7am to 12am on weekdays and Saturdays

(Sundays and public holidays from 8am to 11am)

HAM YARD HOTEL, SOHO

 

Kit Kemp and Firmdale group's newest hotel, opened in May 2014. The hotels has a fantastic location in Soho, with walking distance to all the allthegoodies favourite places in London, and still in a quiet side street or more exactly  in large courtyard, the Ham Yard village.

Breakfast is served in the relaxed restaurant behind the bar (to the left of the reception) from 7am

CHILTERN FIREHOUSE

 

Chiltern Firehouse  is "The Place to be" in London at the moment. It is quite hard to get a table for dinner, so why not try breakfast. Head Chef Nuno Mendez has created an exciting breakfast menu which can be enjoyed from 8am to 10.30am Monday to Friday, brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 11am til 3pm

FIFTH FLOOR CAFE & TERRACE, KNIGHTSBRIDGE

 

The Fifth Floor at Harvey Nichols consist of a restaurant, champagne bar and cafe. The rest of the top floor is occupied by The food market, a great place for gourmet  food, wine and champagne, and even a very nice selection of books and magazines.

Great breakfast in the cafe Monday - Saturday from 8am to 11:45am or brunch at Sundays from 11am to 6pm.

THE BREAKFAST CLUB, SOHO

 

The Breakfast Club is a chain of restaurants which started with this small restaurant in Soho in 2005. The place is very popular, with people queuing up from early morning. The restaurant opens at 8am and serve until 10pm.  Be there before 9am and you are ahead of the hungry bunch

BOUNDARY, SHOREDITCH

 

Why not start the day with a great view. From the roof terrace of the Boundary Hotel, you have 360 views over Shoreditch and London.

 

Breakfast is served in the grill restaurant with an open kitchen. Part of the rooftop is covered by a sail canopy, open all year and even during winter. Take a look at the grapevines growing over your head. In the winter, the large log oven makes the roof top nice and cosy. Relaxed furnishing and a 100 year old olive tree, creates a fantastic place.

 

Ask in the reception if it is possible to have breakfast.

DEAN STREET TOWNHOUSE, SOHO

 

Located in Dean Street naturally, this beautiful white hotel  was created by joining two Georgian town houses, into 39 bedrooms. The restaurant next door to the hotel reception, is filled with small tables and a large bar. As a contrast, the wooden chairs are mixed with red leather sofas. The walls are covered by black and white photos and sketches by upcoming British artists. This makes a down to earth mood. So don´t be afraid of asking for some ketchup, if it's not already on the table. The restaurant has an all day menu with British classics, for breakfast the try the Eggs Benedict which is perfect.

THE WOLSELEY, PICCADILLY

 

The Wolseley is also known for its fantastic breakfast, by many voted the best breakfast restaurant in London. The restaurant has a perfect location at Piccadilly, next to The Ritz Hotel

 

Breakfast is served Monday - Friday 7.00 am - 11.30 am and Saturday & Sunday 8.00 am - 11.30 am. Remember to serve a table !

ALBION, SHOREDITCH

 

The Albion cafe opened in 2009 and is part of the Conran owned Boundary Hotel, which lies next door.

 

The cafe is a blend of grocery, bakery and cafe. The entrance resembles the grocery shop on the corner, with baskets of fruit and vegetables on the outside. Inside there is a small shop with oils, delicacies and fresh bakery. And even beautiful French patisserie.

 

Further in you arrive at the Albion Cafe. The wooden chairs and tables is a perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Here a relaxed seating are surrounded by the smells from the in-house bakery with the large bread oven placed in the centre of the cafe. On the counter you can see the delicious products made all day long.

 

Albion is open from 8am until late evening, seven days per week.

THE PARLOUR AT SKETCH, MAYFAIR

 

The restaurant world of Sketch is also lovely place to visit, also when the sun is high in the sky. Just right at the entrance lies The Parlour.

Here you can get both breakfast, lunch with the Parlours French and British comfort food, and later in the day Tea.

 

On the counter you can see some of the lovely cakes and other patisserie to choose from. With the menu, you see the great sense of humour that lies behind the Sketch complex and the cuisine. Each plate is beautiful.

HOI POLLOI, SHOREDITCH

 

Hoi Polloi is the main restaurant at Ace Hotel in Shoreditch. This is a modern English brasserie, and a great place to relax and, if lucky, listen to live music. The interior might bring you back, considering you were there, to the 70's with wooden panelling on the walls and leather seating, but here in a good way due to the soft lighting.  The restaurant is open all day. Start the day with a perfect Egg Benedict for breakfast.

DUCK AND WAFFLE, CITY

 

The Duck and Waffle is the sister restaurant to the SushiSamba, both located in the Heron Tower high rise. The view from the restaurant is amazing. The special  with this restaurant is that it is open 24 hrs. Choose from breakfast at 6 am, brunch or lunch, dinner or even late night meal until 5am. If you wish, you can make it an all-night event and finish yesterdays party with a great breakfast...

AUBAINE, CHELSEA

 

The restaurant and cafe Aubaine on Brompton road is part of a group of restaurants in London that brings the elegant Parisian cafe and the atmosphere of a Provençal bistro to London. Aubaine have all day dinning with seasonal inspired dishes and even the English tea in the afternoon. When entering the restaurant you are meet by a counter with wonderful French croissants, baguettes, pain au chocolate, macaroons and much more. This is a great place for breakfast with eggs benedict or the freshly made croissant, that made you extra hungry when you entered.

MONDRIAN LONDON, AT SEA CONTAINERS

 

Follow the large curved bronze wall when entering the hotel from the reception past a lounge area, a bar and into the Sea Container restaurant and have a great (but pricy) breakfast here.  Large windows give you a fantastic view over the Thames and further across to the opposite side where you can see the London skyline all the way from Big Ben to the Tower of London.

 

The Sea Container open restaurant is inspired by the Trans-Atlantic ocean lines, combining the best of the British and American cuisine, with the seasons ingredients supplied by the great Borough Market close by.
