Berners Tavern is part of Ian Schrager's comeback hotel in London; the London Edition. It is also another of Michelin starred chef Jason Atherton's new and great London restaurants.

The large dining room has a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere. The vintage ceiling has been restored, and painted in colours that brightens and softens the decor. The walls are covered by paintings in all different sizes. Some in glass frames and some without, which makes an interesting reflection effect from the huge chandeliers in the ceiling. The chandeliers look old at first sight, but if you look  again, you see they are quite contemporary.

The high ceilings and the good space between the tables, makes it easy to have a good conversation without being disrupted by the next table, and at the same time not feel that they are part of your conversation - even if the restaurant is packed. You don't find that very often...

Together with Atherton's fantastic cuisine spanning from his twist on steaks and chicken to burgers and sandwiches, Berners Tavern has quickly become The place to do lunch, have tea, or dine after a movie première like Jolie and Pitt used to do.

Berners Tavern is also relaxed enough that the kids can easily read their cartoons while waiting for the families food to be served, and not look out of place. This has been tried and tested with great success. The children's menu has received the highest ratings ever from the target customers.

The largest table can take up to 14 persons, which one of the circular booths covers up to eight (if you know each other well).
