— COPENHAGEN —

Copenhagen is, and has for a long time been, the Centre of Scandinavian design. The influence of people like Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, Jørn Utzon, Georg Jensen and Poul Henningsen among others have had a huge impact on international design and architecture. The Louisiana museum of Modern Art is an oasis 40 minutes north of Copenhagen. Copenhagen is also the fairytale capitol with HC Andersen, the Little Mermaid and Tivoli Gardens.

And then it is the food - in 2011 Rene Redzepi's Noma passed both The Fat Duck and elBulli and became the number one restaurant in the world and kept the position in the top until they closed their doors in December 2016. Noma has been followed by many exciting newcomers and a total of 18 Michelin stars in 2017 (15 restaurants).

Here we present - in our opinion -  the best hotels, restaurants and cafes in this great city. We also have a lot of suggestions that challenges your mind or wallet, but also affordable places where the people are more interesting than the stars. The purpose of these pages is to give you tips. We do not list up every hotel and restaurant in the city - only the one we like, and then it is up to you to agree with us or not. The places we visited and did not like, is not mentioned here.  To help you out, we have made video presentations from most of the places we have visited, so you can get an impression before you choose to visit.
