PARABOLA AT THE DESIGN MUSEUM, KENSINGTON

Parabola is the restaurant at the new Design Museum.

The Design Museum moved from Shad Thames to the former Commonwealth Institute in Kensington in November 2016, and the restaurant is located at the top floor.

With floor to ceiling windows both to the park outside and to the atrium of the Design Museum, Parabola is flooded in light. The dark furniture, the wooden floor and a great lighting scheme, makes this restaurant as stylish as the Design Museum itself.

As the waiter explains, the restaurant is named after the roof of the building.

The lunch menu is inspired by the season, varying from classic to modern. In the evening, the restaurant present something they call ‘Guest Chef Series’ where internationally renowned chefs, cookbook writers and regional stars are in charge for a period. Very exciting !

The restaurant opens for brunch at 1000 in the weekends and at 1200 the rest of the week. Dinner is served until about 11 in the evening. If you go for brunch in the weekend, a good tip is to be there around 10.30. An hour later the place is packed.
