STRANDVEJEN

The scenic route from Copenhagen to the north of Zealand. If you rent a car, you have to spend a day going north. Strandvejen is packed with exciting Danish architecture and nice places to eat. It starts in the small city of Hellerup and stretches all the way north to the beaches of Hornbæk. The first natural stop is Klambenborg where most of the buildings are made by Arne Jacobsen: Bellevue theatre, the residential buildings (Bellavista), the restaurant Bellevue (former restaurant Jacobsen) and the old petrol station. And if this doesn’t  interest you at all - the beach... Other places worth a visit is Rungsted Harbour with restaurants and shops,  the Karen Blixen Museum at - Rungstedlund, the city of Helsingør with the Kronborg castle (ref Mel Gibson's Hamlet) and the beaches, ice cream parlors and cozy restaurants of Hornbæk. But the most important stop along the way is the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art at Humlebæk.
