GEIST

One of the new stars at Copenhagen's famous culinary heaven, restaurant Geist is a fantastic place to experience and enjoy. Walking from Kongens Nytorv, through the large gate into the an open courtyard of the restaurant Geist will definitely arouse your curiosity,  Geist has from its opening in 2011 had a goal in creating a place for relaxation. Inside you are met by a large bar area with floor to ceiling windows facing Kongens Nytorv. Further in lies the restaurant. Here are large sofas with soft velvet cushions. The decor is a soft grey, making the atmosphere casual and warm. The open kitchen looks out upon the eating area. The man behind Geist, famous Danish chef Bo Bech, came from the successful Paustian restaurant. The menu has over 30 dishes  you are free to choose. Every week new creations are added to the menu. Dishes can be described as Asian meets the Scandinavian kitchen. The ingredients may known but put together to make beautiful, fascinating and  delicious food. For dessert the younger guests are invited to see the chef make candyfloss with rose water.
