COPENHAGEN OPERA HOUSE

Arnold Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller gift to the Danish people, created by architect Henning Larsen. One of the demands from Møller was that the opera should be situated direct opposite and across the water from Amalienborg Palace, the queen’s winter residence in Copenhagen. Even if you are not into opera, it's well worth a visit. Take the canal boat (the waterbus, not the guided tour) over and explore the architecture, the view of Copenhagen and since we are always thinking about food - have a bite in the lobby restaurant.

If you don't catch the next waterbus, you can walk to Christianshavn through the old Holmen Naval Base, now converted to a mixture of homes, small creative businesses, art galleries and educational institutions.
